Dear Participant,
We are writing to provide an update on the security situation in Nairobi ahead of the conference. As some of you may be aware, a major planned demonstration took place on the 25th of June. Since then, there have been no further demonstrations announced, and the situation has quietened down significantly.
We would like to assure you that security on campus and at all the recommended hotels remains stable and well-managed. The University of Nairobi is fully operational, and no disruptions have been reported in the areas surrounding the venue or the hotels. Because of this, we are confident that participants will not be affected in any way.
Please note that the ACLALS 2025 conference will proceed as planned, and we are encouraged to note that other international conferences are currently taking place at the University without any interruptions.
Your safety and comfort remain our top priority and should there be any new developments or planned demonstrations, we will inform you immediately.
