Welcome to the ACLALS 2025 Conference
Hosted at the University of Nairobi, this year’s ACLALS Conference brings together scholars, writers, and practitioners from across the Commonwealth and beyond to explore the theme of “Transcultural Multipolarities: World Literatures, Global Souths, and the Future of the Humanities.”
From July 1–5, 2025, participants will engage in a rich programme of keynote addresses, parallel panels, roundtable discussions, cultural excursions, and artistic performances. The conference foregrounds critical conversations on decolonial thought, ecological literatures, linguistic innovation, and the evolving dynamics of literary and cultural production across multipolar worlds.
The programme reflects the diversity and depth of contributions, spanning continents and disciplines. Highlights include keynote lectures by Simon Gikandi, Yvonne Owuor, Grace Musila, Goretti Kyomuhendo, and Mukoma wa Ngugi, as well as a special excursion to the Naretunoi Conservancy.
We invite all attendees to immerse themselves in the intellectual, creative, and collaborative spirit of ACLALS 2025.
